2000 found Michael in Tewksbury, Massachusetts for their Town Homecoming
celebrations where he worked with re-enactment groups and specialised
in the narration of Redcoat elements, taking a lead dialogue role as
a Redcoat Officer of the Revolutionary War period. He was appointed
an Honorary Member of the Tewksbury Company of Minutemen as a result
of his visit. Right,
Stu Neilson, Managing Director of The Town Crier newspaper of Tewksbury,
Mass. rings out a warm welcome to Mike as he sets foot in America for
the first time since 1976.
Mike
first met Harry and Pauline Anderson from Glocester, Rhode Island on
St.Georges Day April 23rd 1976 on their visit to England with
their local High School Wind Ensemble. Subsequently, Michael went to
America in November 1976 to visit all of the places called Gloucester
and was deeply grateful to Harry and Pauline and other good folk of
the Glocester area for hospitality and friendship. Harry and Pauline
are pictured with Mike at The Homecoming in Tewksbury, Mass a reunion
after 24 years.
